The People Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the ruling party, the All Progressive Congress (APC), is destroying Nigeria’s national institutions in its bid to cling to power.
The PDP, made the allegation through its national chairman, Uche Secondus, during the party’s presidential rally, in President Mohammadu Buhari’s home state, Katsina, held today. The rally, aired on AIT, was attended by a mammoth crowd.
Secondus, while reacting to the governor of Kaduna, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai’s statement on body bags, said the ruling party was in panic mode and was therefore taking untoward steps to confuse, compromise and destroy national institutions such as the police, army, INEC, ect.
The PDP chairman said not matter the intimidation, the PDP would not accept any result of the election that is rigged. “They cannot kill us. We will reject any result that is rigged by APC. This country belongs to all of us and Alhaji Abubakar Atiku has paid his dues and he is therefore suitable to become president”, Secondus said.
Reacting to el-Rufai’s statement that any international observe that interferes with Nigeria’s election process shall return home in body bags, Secondus said the Kaduna governor does not have the right to make such statement. According to him, before the 2015 election, the APC travelled to the United States and United Kingdom to invite consultants who helped in their campaigns and international observers to come and witness the 2015 elections.
He said virtually all the international polls have given the 2019 presidential election victory to Atiku that is why the APC is confused and are making all sort of intimidating statements.
