The Association of Licensed Telecommunication Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) has endorsed the hosting of the 10the edition of eWorld Forum and Awards.
The eWorld Forums which started in 2009 has been the platform for ventilating ideas and propagating of policies on emerging technologies and innovations in the ICT ecosystem and charting the path for growth.

In a letter to Ajomedia, organisers of the eWorld Forum, signed by ALTON Executive Secretary, Gbolahan Awonuga, the association said that its members supports the “success of the Stakeholder’s Forum, which is scheduled to hold on 5th June at Oriental Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos”.
This year’s event, for the first time shall include awards to companies that have played major roles in the development of broadband and contributing to digital transformation of Nigeria.
The Forum has, as its theme, The Roadmap To Broadband Everywhere. The theme is key as it falls in line with the desire of the industry to push broadband, through various policies and platforms, to every path of Nigeria. It is also important that stakeholders use the occasion of the event to discuss current global waves on 5G development and deployment and how and when Nigeria keys into them.
The NCC is currently involved in various strategies, one of them is the licensing of Infracos and their empowerment through the Universal Services Provision Fund (USPF), to take broadband to cities and villages.
