9Mobile has reassured of its commitment to help Nigerian youths to achieve their set goals, particularly in the area of education

The mobile company made the commitment while joining others in commemorating this year’s International Youth Day (IYD), which has as its theme: ‘Transforming Education’.

The company said it would continue to initiate and support projects to make education more inclusive and accessible for all Nigerian youth.

The mobile network operator said that it had always shown commitment to the provision of quality education for Nigerian youths through its solutions and interventions including Cliqlite prepaid package designed for children and teenagers aged 8-15 – perfect for learning and development as well as its Adopt-a-School and Code Lagos Initiatives, which serves to provide infrastructural support to select schools and set-up computer coding centres respectively.

Others are 9mobile’s partnership with online learning portal, Siyavula which aids students in learning mathematics, and 9mobile Telecommunications Engineering Postgraduate Programme (9TEPP) situated in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

The Acting Director, Marketing, 9mobile, Layi Onafowokan, explained that the brand was proud of its creative and transformational interventions in youth-focused education and would not relent in its support.

“In line with the theme for this year’s celebration, ‘Transforming Education’, at 9mobile, we are proud to say that we have been consistent in our efforts towards making quality, transformational education accessible to all as part of our contribution towards achieving Goal 4 of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,” he stated.

Onafowokan assured that 9mobile “will not relent in our efforts towards providing access to quality education for the youth and we also congratulate the young people of Nigeria who continue to put in the hard work and innovation that drives the development of the country.”

The United Nations International Youth Day is celebrated on August 12 annually. It provides an opportunity for governments and other stakeholders to draw attention to youth issues worldwide. During IYD, concerts, workshops, cultural events, and meetings involving national and local government officials and youth organizations take place around the world.

This year’s theme draws global attention to efforts to make education more relevant, equitable and inclusive for all youth, including efforts by youth themselves.
