The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has concluded plans to launch more enrolment centres in the Republic of India in continuance of the enrolment of Nigerians in Diaspora into the National Identity Database (NIDB).
The launch for the additional enrolment centres in India is in collaboration with NIMC licensed partner: UGS Technologies Limited to flag off enrolment services in Chennai and New Dehli, India respectively.
This laudable step taken by the Commission, is to ensure Nigerians in Diaspora are captured into the National database and issued the National Identification Number (NIN) is in pursuant to the provisions of the NIMC Act (2007).
NIMC Director General/CEO, Engr. Aliyu Aziz while making this announcement in the NIMC Headquarters, said “the enrolment and the issuance of the NIN to Nigerians outside the country is in fulfilment of the NIMC mandate to enrol Nigerians, Legal Residents and Nigerians in Diaspora into the National Identity Database (NIDB).”
He added that all licensed partners are companies that have complied with the requirements for data capture and processing as enshrined in the Laws of the respective countries they operate.
The flag off is scheduled to go live Wednesday, 18th December 2019 at 5 & 7, Thiruvottiyur High Road, Thangal, Srinivasa Nagar, Tondiapet, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600081, India and Friday, 20th December 2019 at 1st Floor, Plot No. 7,8,9, Garg Shopping Mall, Opp. Sector 11 (Extn.), Rohini, Delhi- 110085, India.
NIMC has chosen major cities across Africa, Asia, Europe and North & South America to carry out the enrolment of Nigerian adults and children in the Diaspora into the National Identity Database (NIDB) with licensed partners such as; Biosec Solutions Limited, CHAMS Consortium Limited, Defcon Systems Limited& OIS Services, National eAuthentication Limited & OIS Services, Thebez Global Resources, Dantata Universal Services/VFS Global and Venn Technology Limited, Kevonne Consults Limited/Iris ID Systems INC., UGS Technologies Limited/OrangeHook African Continental/Carvus.
