There are widespread claims that are linking the outbreak of Covid-19 to 5G networks. Many now believe these growing claims that the virus started in Wuhan, China because it was the first city to launch 5G networks.
But the International Commission on Non‐Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), a German-based scientific organization, which carried out a seven-year study has debunked the claims.
The claims making the rounds say that the virus started in a 5G smart city and the first reported case happened the exact day mandatory vaccines started in China. According to the claims the vaccine contained replicating digitized RNA which were activated by 60Ghzmm 5G waves that were just turned on in Wuhan ( as well as other countries using 60Ghz 5G) with the smart dust that everyone on the globe has been inhaling through chemtrails. And when they say someone is cured the virus can be digitally reactivated at any time and the person can literally drop dead.
The chemtrail conspiracy theory posits the erroneous[ belief that long-lasting condensation trails are “chemtrails” consisting of chemical or biological agents left in the sky by high-flying aircraft, sprayed for nefarious purposes undisclosed to the general public
It is true that by March 2020 over 25 countries have launched 5G networks and many more had tried the service but have not launched commercial services. Nigeria is one of those countries that have tried 5G in Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt, but have not launched the services because licenses and spectrums have not been given to operators.
First, contrary to claims that the first 5G network was launched in Wuhan in November 2019, investigation has shown that the first full 5G network services went live in Monaco in July 9, 2019. Monaco, is the first principality, micro-state and country to deploy fully functional 5G telecom services in the world.
Moncao is situated between French Riviera in Western Europe and the Mediterranean. It’s reputed as a wealthy country of about 40,000 residents but noted for $2.1 million per capita income. At the moment Monaco has recorded 66 cases of Covid-19, I death and 3 recoveries, as against New York which has recorded about 4000 deaths and over 300,000 cases.
Secondly, fears surrounding mobile phone use and the possible effects of radiation on the human body are not new. They were there before and during the launch of 4G.
It is true that 5G, the latest generation of mobile communication, will employ higher frequencies and bandwidth, enabling users to transfer wireless data faster (with rates of up to 10Gbit per second) than older cellphone standards.
Previous ‘G’ networks have used frequencies between 700 MHz and 6 GHz. The 5G network will operate on frequencies between 28 and 100 GHz. To put that into perspective: 4G is 10 times faster than 3G. It is expected that 5G will be around 1,000 times faster than 4G.
But ICNIRP that determines the impact of electromagnetic waves on people and the environment, after the five -year study came out with the verdict in March 11, 2020 that there is no evidence that 5G networks pose a health risk to humans.
The reassurance came as the body did update its guidelines for millimeter-wave 5G, the highest frequency version of 5G which is in use in the U.S. but has not yet made it to Europe. However, actually millimeter-wave 5G frequencies are usually far below the new maximum set by the standard.
“We know parts of the community are concerned about the safety of 5G and we hope the updated guidelines will help put people at ease,” ICNIRP Chairman Dr. Eric van Rongen said in a media release recently.
The new guidelines were based on seven years of research and update guidelines last set in 1998. Van Rongen said that, over the course of its research, the body found no evidence that the use of 5G mobile phone networks harmed the body beyond heating some tissue.
“We also considered all other types of effects for instance, whether radio waves could lead to the development of cancer in the human body,” van Rongen said. “We find that the scientific evidence for that is not enough to conclude that indeed there is such an effect.”
The new guidelines cover mobile phones that connect to frequencies higher than six gigahertz (GHz) and limit their radiation levels when they do so. These higher frequencies can deliver faster speeds over short distances.
Reacting to the study outcome the Global Mobile Association 9GSMA) that regulates mobile usage and standards said, “Twenty years of research should reassure people there are no established health risks from their mobile devices or 5G antennas,” GSMA chief regulatory officer John Giusti said.
