Nigeria recorded an additional 170 confirmed COVID-19 cases taking the number of recorded cases nationwide to 2558.
The rise in figures comes at a time the federal government announced the easing of the lockdown imposed on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lagos and Ogun states in order to control the spread some weeks ago.
The new reports of rise in cases of Covid-19 infections came from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Twiitter account.
A breakdown of the figures shows that Ogun State, which is under lockdown until May 9, has 24, while Lagos recorded 39 cases and the FCT 12. Lagos is followed by Kano with 29. There is Bauchi with 18, Kaduna (15), Sokoto (12), Katsina (8), Borno (7), Nasarawa (3), Adamawa (2) and Oyo (1).
NCDC announced 400 recoveries and 87 deaths.
