President Muhammadu Buhari has felicitated with Secretary of the International Press Institute (IPI), Alhaji Raheem Adedoyin, on his 60th birthday, July 23, 2021.

The president joined members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, the Nigerian Guild of Editors, and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to celebrate with the senior journalist, whose antecedents continue to inspire many in the media profession.

Speaking on the event of Adedoyin’s birthday celebration which is being marked with a public lecture today, at the State Banquet Hall, Ilorin, the Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq noted that the celebrant ” is one of the pillars of his government.

” When we came on board, we came in with a blueprint, manifestos, and good ideas. Incidentally, Raheemk Adedoyin single-handedly put together a team that drafted my manifestos, beautiful one”, the governor said.

President Buhari congratulated Adedoyin, who was the former Commissioner of Information in Kwara State for his milestone achievements, preceded by years of hard work and focus that have seen his steady rise in journalism, with contributions to the development of the country, particularly in youth and community development.

As Adedoyin turns 60, the President notes his interest is always projecting the strength of the country, and the continent, in representation on the Executive Board of the IPI, commending his sense of patriotism and commitment to nation-building.

Buhari prays that the almighty God will grant Adedoyin, fondly called Oloriewe, longer life, good health, and strength.

Today’s public lecture in his honour will be delivered by Dapo Olorunyomi, publisher/editor of Premium Times. Chief Segun Osoba will be the father of the day, while Mr. Lade Bonuola, Ladbone, former Managing Director of The Guardian Newspapers will be chairman of the occasion
