The Cloud Network Foundation (CNF), a key stakeholder in Nigeria’s telecoms industry, has extended a warm welcome to the newly appointed Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Board, Idris Olorunnimbe.
The Foundation commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing individuals of proven competence and vast experience to steer the nation’s communications sector, but urged Olorunnimbe to “hit the ground running.”
For clarity, CNF is a registered non-governmental organization devoted to promoting the growth and development of Telecommunications and ICT as the chief driver of Nigeria’s economy.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Abimbola Toki, CNF noted that Olorunnimbe brings a wealth of knowledge and strategic insight that will strengthen the Commission’s regulatory role.
The group further charged the NCC Board to prioritise:
- Digital economy growth
- More regulatory efficiency
- Universal access
- Network security
Toki reaffirmed CNF’s commitment to collaborating with the NCC and other stakeholders in advancing the telecoms sector.
“We look forward to partnering with Mr. Olorunnimbe and the NCC Board to achieve our shared vision for Nigeria’s telecoms sector,” Toki said.
