Civil society groups and concerned Nigerians on Monday took to the National Assembly in Abuja to protest the Senate’s refusal to make electronic transmission of election results mandatory.
The demonstrators demanded an urgent review of the Electoral Act Amendment Bill, arguing that electronic transmission is essential for transparency and credible elections.

Security operatives drawn from the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were stationed at key access points to maintain order and prevent any escalation.
