Ten Nigerian tech whiz- kids working at a digitized logistics company known as Kobo 360 were upbeat at the weekend that their intelligent logistics platform is revolutionary and is set to change the face of logistics in Nigeria, and indeed Africa.
One of the features of the app known as the digitized waybill solution, according to them, makes their platform, ahead of all others as it solves one of the major challenge in the logistic industry, which is that of monitoring and analysing goods transportation and delivery.
Head of engineering, Tosin Adesipe said that the completion does not have some of the features Kobo 360 has on its app platform put its operation a head of them.
He also said many logistics companies do not carry out the business in a structured manner, a deficit that Kobo 360 is resolving, “As it makes transportation of goods from one location to another within Nigeria and across other African countries easier”.
Already the company’s operation covers nine countries, among them Kenya, Ghana, Togo, Uganda, Rwanda moving goods across the Nigerian border in an unbroken chain.
Adesipe said, the tech-enabled logistics platform aggregates end-to-end haulage operations help cargo, truck, drivers and cargo recipients to achieve an efficient supply chain framework.
Tosin Adesipe, who leads the team at the company of the young Nigerians, mostly within the 25-35 years age bracket said their application, which already attracting over 600 partners provides:
- Multilingual support
- Analytic reporting
- Digitised way bill and invoicing
- Ease of order placement
- Realtime trip visibility
- Truck and driver management for parties
Adesipe, who did a demo for select media houses, alongside Mrs Eno Kennedy, Head marketing who answered questions said the company carries out series of trainings for its partners to enable them use the application seamlessly.
The company does not have trucks of its own, but has secured the partnership of over 500 truck owners, who are on its network; and some of the good owners who use their platform to move goods, according to the company officials include Flour Mill and Dangote.
“ We see ourselves as the heart of the of the logistic business”, Kennedy said, adding that with a hand-held device which the company provides its partners “ you can monitor and track the movement of your goods”.
