The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has suspended the operating licence of DAAR Communications Plc until further notice.

The commission announced the decision at a news briefing in Abuja, the nation’s capital today.

The suspension came on a day that the founder and Emeritus Chairman of Daar Communications, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, and some civil rights bodies protested to various international organizations, such as the United Nation and embassies of the United State and United Kingdom in Abuja over threats by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to revoke its license. Details later.

The NBC has been having a running battle with AIT and RayPower over claims that the two organisations were violating the NBC broadcasting code and ethics.
