Organisers of the Nigeria eGovernment Summit have announced the commencement of nominations for the Nigeria eGovernment Excellence Award 2026, a recognition programme designed to honour outstanding achievements in digital government service delivery across Nigeria.
The organisers, in a statement signed by Victor Makinde on behalf of the Nigeria eGovernment Excellence Award 2026 Organising Committee, said the awards would recognise Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), state governments, private sector organisations and individuals driving innovation and transformation in public service delivery through technology.
According to the organisers, the award presentation ceremony is scheduled to hold on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, during the Nigeria eGovernment Summit.
The statement noted that the initiative seeks to celebrate organisations and individuals that have demonstrated excellence, innovation and measurable impact in advancing eGovernment initiatives in Nigeria.
Under the Federal Government MDA category, awards will be presented in areas including digital transformation, citizen service portals, revenue digitalisation, cross-agency integration, cybersecurity leadership, eDocument and eRegistry services, artificial intelligence leadership, emerging technologies, and open government transparency.
For state governments, categories include Best State Digital Transformation Award, Most Improved State eGovernment Service Deployment, Best State Mobile Government Initiative, Best State IGR Digitalisation Award, Digital Inclusion and Rural Access Award, Best State Social Service Digitalisation Award, Best State Business Enabling Environment Award, and State Emerging Technology Leadership Award.
In the private sector category, honours will recognise eGovernment technology partners, payment solution providers, digital identity and verification innovators, cloud and infrastructure providers, cybersecurity solution firms, citizen-facing digital product developers, connectivity providers, indigenous technology companies, GovTech innovators, startups, and media organisations promoting eGovernment initiatives.
The individual category will recognise distinguished personalities through awards such as eGovernment Lifetime Achievement Award, Public Sector CIO/CTO of the Year, GovTech Entrepreneur of the Year, Young Digital Government Leader, eGovernment Advocate of the Year, Digital Policy Leader of the Year, Public Sector CEO eGovernment Champion Award, and Pioneer eGovernment Promoter Award.
The organisers invited stakeholders to submit nominations through the official online nomination portal at https://egovernment.ng/awards�, noting that multiple nominations and self-nominations are permitted.
They added that all entries must be supported with clear evidence of achievement and measurable impact.
The nomination deadline has been fixed for Friday, June 12, 2026, while late submissions will not be considered.
